SAVE THE DATE for SJN's 25th Annual Golf Classic, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course!
Highlights from our 24TH ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC! Thank you to Bruce Cope and the 2016 Golf Committee for hosting yet another amazing Golf Classic! The rain clouds parted and we ended up having a beautiful day to be on the course.
A word from our Golf Classic Chair, Bruce Cope
"Our 24th annual St. John Neumann Golf Classic was held on Friday, September 9th at Spencer T. Olin golf course in Alton. We had another full field of 35 teams and with the help of the prayers of 215 St. John Neumann students, the skies cleared up just in time for a great day of golf! A fun time was had by all, highlighted by one lucky golfer nearly making a 50 foot putt for $5,000 in the Community Brokers Insurance putting contest! The golf committee put in hours of hard work to ensure another successful tournament. The committee’s efforts resulted in a record setting year raising in excess of $20,000. A big thanks to all of the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event a huge success and we hope to see everyone back on September 8, 2017 for the silver anniversary of the St. John Neumann Golf Classic!"

Annual Fund Campaign
Hello St. John Neumann Supporter,
We have just started our 38th year of school at St. John Neumann, and there has never been a more exciting time to be a Crusader! We are asking you to help us reach our goal of 100% participation in our annual fund campaign from our entire school community; our families at SJN, our parishioners at Mother of Perpetual Help, St. Cecilia’s, and St. Jerome’s, alumni, grandparents, and friends.
Through our Live Like A Crusader campaign, it is our hope that all stakeholders in the success of St. John Neumann Catholic School prayerfully discern a meaningful amount to contribute and pledge to keep us in your prayers. Every gift counts!
All proceeds from our Annual Fund are thoughtfully applied to our school in several ways. We use your gifts to purchase much needed instructional supplies for the preschool program, to send our teachers to numerous professional development workshops, and have to increase the amount of tuition assistance we provide to families in need.
We are poised for growth! Our K-8 enrollment has increased by nearly 10% and our preschool program is thriving! As we experience this wonderful influx of new Crusaders, we will have growing pains financially. Our Annual Fund will be crucial these next few years as we work to keep class sizes small, while continuing to provide Catholic education to more and more students.
Please consider making your contribution today! Donations made through June 30, 2017 will apply to the 2016-2017 campaign. Each tax deductible gift is deeply appreciated, and very much needed.

Scrip is a fantastic gift card program that puts money in YOUR pocket and benefits our school. When people hear about scrip, many ask, “what’s the catch?” The catch – if there is one – is that families need to plan ahead a little and do their normal shopping with gift cards. By simply planning ahead on everyday purchases like groceries, gas, restaurants, clothes, entertainment and home repair, the average family can earn at least $11 a week. That modest number adds up quickly - over $500 a year for an average family is not unusual. You are already spending the money on these everyday purchases, why not spend it by using scrip and watch the dollars come off of your tuition. SJN will receive a percentage of the gift card value. It is a win-win! Go online today to get started by visiting www.shopwithscrip.com. You can also pick up a SCRIP ordering form with a complete listings of the vendors at the school office.
Everyone goes out to eat on occasion, right? Why not support the local businesses that support us! These restaurants will give back 20% of every gift card sold by a Crusader to SJN. Think about how fast those dollars will add up for our school!
Participating restaurants include:
Bobby's Frozen Custard
Buy or sell gift cards to these restaurants. In appreciation, these restaurants will let SJN keep 20% of the value of the card. These cards are dollar for dollar meaning, if you buy a $50 gift card to Bobby's, you have $50 to go get some yummy frozen custard at Bobby's, and SJN gets $10! Scriplus expands on the Scrip program already in place and is a way for us to raise funds using money you already spend out in restaurants. And for additional fun, every school family that participates will have the chance to win some cool prizes and play some fun games at quarterly pep assemblies!
The success of our fundraisers allows for us to continue to improve our academics, athletics, and extra-curricular programs and still keep tuition low!
Dream Vacation Raffle
Our annual Dream Vacation Raffle will run through January 30, 2017. Each SJN school family is required to sell a minimum of 10 tickets. This is our only fundraiser requirement here at St. John Neumann. For every 15 tickets sold, families will be entered into the Free Tuition Drawing for 2017-18! Additional tickets are available in the school office.
Tickets are $20 each or six for $100. The 1st place winner will choose between three new amazing vacation packages!
PACKAGE #1 - Private Wine Experiences in Napa Valley, Napa, California
Three Days & Two Nights at a Stylish and Sophisticated Private Guest House for Two, Including a Private Wine Tour of B Cellars Winery and a Private Tasting with the Winemakers and Proprietors of J Gregory (Land Only)
While in Napa Valley, you will stay at a stylish and sophisticated private guest house, which overlooks mountains, vineyards and a picturesque 100 year old barn. The guest houses are located in the heart of Napa Valley at the mid-Northern end of the valley, at the base of Howell Mountain, 5 mins from St. Helena and 10 mins from Calistoga. They are all furnished with antiques and collected art and have high end finishes.
Greeted in the B Cellars Hospitality House, you will be led by a private wine guide to tour the culinary garden, state-of-the art winemaking facility, and wine caves, all while enjoying a glass of their Blend 23; a seductive blend of chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and viognier. Following the exploration, you will be seated for a tasting of B Cellars Flagship blended and limited-production wines. Each tasting is accompanied by an artfully produced, seasonal "B-Bite", which is created to perfectly pair with each wine in the tasting.
At their private tasting room in Napa, owners Mark and Kandice Jessup, or a close family member, will personally lead you through a tasting of their wines. Not only is Mark the owner; he’s the wine maker. For 3 decades, he has worked closely and fostered relationships with a handful of select Napa Valley growers. Mark understands that outstanding fruit is the foundation of exceptional wines and believes these grower relationships allow him to ‘pick and choose’ from a variety of appellation personalities. The resulting wines are at once classic—and contemporary. This is truly an exclusive and unique vacation experience in Napa Valley that will be remembered for a life time!
