Msgr. Mank:
- Fr. Quilligan’s funeral was very nice. A lot of people showed up to pay their respects.
- Bishop Lucas met with area priests to make it official that the Fr. Michael McGivney High School will proceed as planned. He will be making an official announcement on the earmark of the property. It is 80 acres off of Old Troy Road. The target is fall of 2011. It will be open to the Freshman and Sophomore classes only at first. It will not be sponsored by the diocese.
Principal's Report
- Fr. Quilligan requested that all memorials go to SJN. $2800 so far has been donated.
- Enrollment at present is 236- 4th grade with 28 students; kindergarten-18. Class lists are now on fast direct.
- Mrs. Hodapp accepted a position at Holy Trinity. Mr. Blair will be back.
- Thanks to Priscilla Yasitis for volunteering to head the Magazine Drive.
- Looking for preschool aide for 4 hours every morning at just shy of $11 per hour.
- Mrs. Nanney no longer wants to handle Model UN. Mr. Stowers will take it over. There are possible positive prospects to help him.
- Student Council looks like a good possibility this school year.
- Fr. Kerber paid for carpet remnants for the art room. We no longer need a canvas.
- Orientation Aug.14 is the eve of a Holy day which proposes a conflict. The board recommended it be moved to Wed. the 13th. A vote was taken to make it official.
- Sept. 9th will be a ½ day. A Marketing workshop will take the place of Fall Regionals for faculty and staff. It will take place at St. Ambrose Church in Godfrey from 1-3:30 for faculty and staff & 6:30-9:00 for parents.
Teacher’s Report
- Jennifer Parker is excited about the school year and is getting ready for the students.
PTU
- No Report
Finance
- Steve explained why the Net Income of fundraising was misleading. Scrip is over budget because of timing of deposits. Spring Fling brought in $12,000, the picnic with $8000, and the run with $4000. Magazine drive is $4000 over budget. The numbers should come back down on net income.
- Received donations through memorials & tributes that equal $18,000 that we didn’t count on. Next month Steve will share actual numbers with us.
- 07-08 expenses are down because of decrease in enrollment. In case of emergencies we a have a few CDs.
Policy
- Joyce met with Jack in June and found discrepancies in the handbook. A lot of revisions made to policy statements.
- Subsidy calculations will be made for last minute families to register for school. There was discussion of putting the policies in a PDF file to be transferred to WORD so it can be edited.
