In addition, Scrambled Gears is one of 5 teams from the Southern Illinois Qualifier advancing to the State Tournament in Elgin. Congratulations to all four of our SJN robotics teams!! We are so proud of you!!
On Saturday, December 4th, 2021 two of our robotics teams competed in the Illinois Robotics Regional Qualifier at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Both of these teams brought home first place awards for SJN! The Discovery Botgineers won first place for the Innovation Project Award, where they designed a system that would alert semi-truck drivers if their load/trailer was too tall for an approaching bridge. The Scrambled Gears won first place for the Robot Design Award and took fourth overall on the robot table performance. The Scrambled Gears were also one of four teams selected to advance to the FIRST LEGO League State Tournament in Champaign, IL on January 29th. The members of the Discovery Botgineers robotics team are: Mac C., Noah C., David H., Brenden P., Bryce S., Sebastian S., and Owen W. The members of the Scrambled Gears robotics team are: Anne C., Nathan E., Luke M., Anna M., Sam M., Jack S., Kayleigh V., and Abe W. We are so proud of our Crusaders!
In 2020, members of our Scrambled Gears robotics team received a patent! They applied for a patent for their WaterSpark charging assembly back in 2018. Their patent has officially been approved and published! Way to go Crusaders! We are so proud of you all! Click here to view the patent.
